Team Dungeons

Team Dungeons, also known as Storm Mesa’s, are a game mode where you and up to 3 teammates have 3 minutes to defeat a dungeon with 1 or more bosses inside to receive randomly generated rewards, you each are allowed to deploy up to 5 heroes. Your account can have up to 8 entries at any time and you generate a new entry every 6 hours.

As of late 2015 4 more team dungeons were added; Lava Isle 1-4. The rewards seem to be less valuable than storm mesa 4. So far the following rewards have been confirmed:

Getting Started:

The entry to the Team Dungeons room is found at the top right hand corner of your home map, next to the Here be Monsters entry: teamdungeons3   This opens up the Team Dungeons room: teamdungeons4   On this page you can see the 4 Team Dungeons: Storm Mesa 1 through 4. The degree of difficulty increases with each one you will only be able to do the later stages with specific heroes. Your number of entries is in the top left hand corner as well as a Tab to ‘Join Team’, at the bottom in the middle, which will add you to a pool of players seeking teammates, it will be random and it may take awhile until you find a team where all 4 players are willing to play together and are capable of defeating the dungeon. For Storm Mesa 2+ it is strongly advised to do them only with Guild mates for convenience and efficiency, if you do not have Guild mates it is time to find some! The join Public storm Mesa’s there are also Might requirements:

  • Mesa 2: 8000
  • Mesa 3: 20,000
  • Mesa 4: 30,000

In the above picture there is a icon that says ‘Form Team’. You need to form a team before you can take part in Team Dungeons. To do so you press the icon and it opens this screen up: teamdungeons5 setup   The placement of your 5 heroes is relevant based on where you will be starting inside the relative Mesa’s, You don’t want fragile heroes taking the brunt at the start when a tank could take it for them.

Selecting your Mesa:

Selecting the best mesa for you comes down to a few factors:

  • What heroes are available from your team of 4 players ( this is why having a guild is essential  for ease of play).
  • What rewards you want.

Mesa rewards:

Each Mesa has 3 kinds of chests that can be obtained and each chest type has some set rewards inside it as well as some variable ones, the amount of MeritsMerit.png obtained increases with each Mesa. For a description of what each individual Item does please read the Items page. Mythic and Rare chests only seem to be barely rarer than Ordinary chests. Simplified the Mesa’s have a basis for their type of rewards:

  • Storm Mesa 1: Modest rewards with hero experience being the basis. you will want to move to a higher Mesa as soon as you can.
  • Storm Mesa 2: Hero skill Experience, all 3 chests come with Essences.
  • Storm Mesa 3: ShardsShard.png. Good if you are saving to hire a specific hero.
  • Storm mesa 4: ShardsShard.png and Essences in all 3 chest types. The most MeritsMerit.png.

The variable and static rewards from each chest type are:

Mesa Requirements:

The other factor that changes you Mesa selection is what ones your group can actually complete. It is always best to bring as many Pumpkin Dukes and Druids as possible. The minimum requirements as well as other heroes it is advised to bring are set out below and assume your other heroes do enough damage to kill the boss(‘s) in time: (Note*: Android players have an attack speed cap or 200ms which is half the speed of the other servers (100ms). This means your focus on DPS is very important and you may need to have more than the minimum requirements to complete your Mesa’s risk free).

Storm Mesa 1:

  • At least 1 7/9 Pumpkin Duke or 2 5/9 Pumpkin Dukes.
  • At least 1 Cupid 5/9 or an additional Pumpkin Duke.
  • 3 Druids.

Storm Mesa 2:

  • At least 2 pumpkin Dukes 7/9 or 3 pumpkin Dukes 6/9.
  • At least 2 Cupid’s or an additional pumpkin Duke 6/9.
  • 4 Druids.
  • Heroes above level 80.
  • It is best to bring 1 Minotaur, 1 Aries and 1 of either Moltanica or Shaman.

Storm Mesa 3:

  • At Least 2 Pumpkin Dukes 7/9 or 3 Pumpkin Dukes 6/9.
  • At Least 2 Cupids.
  • 4 Druids.
  • 1 Minotaur is strongly advised.
  • 1 Aries is strongly advised.
  • Heroes above level 100 with inscriptions or 120 without.
  • 1 debuffer is strongly advised. Shaman or Moltanica.

Storm Mesa 4:

  • At least 3 Pumpkin Dukes 7/9.
  • At least 2 Cupids.
  • 4 Druids.
  • 1 Minotaur.
  • 1 Aries.
  • 1 Debuffer. Moltanica or Shaman.
  • Heroes above 120 with inscriptions.
  • High DPS.

Damage Per Second (DPS):

DPS for Storm Mesa’s is the total output of damage per second. In all Mesa’s except Mesa 4 this is damage to 1 target. Mesa 4 has 5 bosses and therefore there are a few other heroes with decent DPS. Your heroes always reach the 35k damage cap due to the significant number of Pumpkin Duke and Druid buffs stacked at any given time. The Proc damage is in addition to their normal damage.   The best DPS Heroes, in order, for Storm Mesa’s are:

  1. Snowzilla: This little beast hits 100% of the time, every 0.5s during his proc. His Proc lasts 4 seconds and has a 4 second cooldown meaning in every 6 second cycle his Proc hits 12 times, for 35k each time for a staggering 420,000 damage.
  2. Storm Mesa 4 only; Grizzly Reaper/Spirit Mage: Due to there being multiple boss targets for most of the fight you get a lot of added value from their procs. On all platforms they are procing once every 1.6 seconds and hitting up to 5 targets at a time with the average number of targets being slightly under 3. So in a 6 second cycle, assuming 3 targets, they would proc 3.75 times for a total of 393750 damage.
  3. Santa Boom hits 10 times per proc for 350k damage and has a 7 second cooldown for a total of 300k damage per 6 second cycle.
  4. Immortep. Immortep’s skill hit’s 20% of time time every 0.2 seconds at an average of once per second for 6 seconds with a 6 second cooldown. The first hit is 100% successful though. In a 6 second cycle he hits6.8 times on average for 238,000 damage.
  5. Vlad Dracula: Vlad’s Proc hits 30% of the time every 0.4 seconds for 6 seconds with a 6 second cooldown. He also hits 100% of the time with the first hit. He hits for an average of 5.2 times per 6 second cycle for 182,000 damage.
Setup:

Once you’ve selected your Mesa of choice and have your heroes organised it is time to set up to play. One person (the creator) should go to their portal and open the Team Dungeon screen: teamdungeons4   Here they select the Mesa they want to play. This will open the screen for that specific Mesa, in this instance it is Storm Mesa 4. (The layouts of each are different) teamdungeons9 create screen   The creator then presses the ‘Invite’ icon which will send invites to every member of the guild. Invite notifications pop up on the other players home screen: teamdungeons1   You click on the notification icon and it opens up your ‘Invite’ screen: teamdungeonsinvites   Where you can click accept to also be taken to the Mesa room. The creator can kick people from the room that are not part of your group. Once you’re set into position the creator clicks the start icon and a 20 second countdown begins. At the end of the Mesa, if successful, a series of chests pops up for you to choose from. Your reward is already determined so don’t think too much about which one to pick.

Strategy:

Based on many large samples of testing many players have figured out the best places to place your heroes for each of the Mesas. Ensure you always set your heroes up based on where you are starting so that your more fragile heroes don’t get targeted first. Storm Mesa 3 and 4 have specific setups that are best to follow. The circles correspond to each players placement.

Storm Mesa 1:

teamdungeonssm1

Storm Mesa 2:

There are two setups for Storm Mesa 2. You can just chose your preference however if you have 1 or 2 players with weak heroes pick the second one so you can put them behind the stronger heroes and protect them: teamdungeons sm21 teamdungeonssm22

Storm Mesa 3:

teamdungeonssm3   Hero placement for each of the groups of players should mirror each other. I.E the 2 ‘Top’ players should mirror each other as should the 2 ‘Bottom’ players. Each with the relevant tank up front. The hero placement for Bottom Left is: teamdungeons7sm4bot2   Tank at the front (Mino), Lowest HP and most important hero at the back (Pumpkin Duke). The other bottom player would place a mirror image of this.

Storm Mesa 4:

There are few placements being used for Mesa 4. Some guilds use 4 corners. Some put 2 in the middle and 2 at either top or bottom: sm4placement Some Guilds put 2 groups of 2 players at the top and the bottom ( the best method for us):teamdungeon10sm4placement We have found Top and Bottom to be the best although 2 in the center is nearly as good. 4 Corners is the fastest but the worst. The reason for this is that if any corner loses their Druid then all of their heroes will die and it will become a race to finish. If 2 corners die then you lose the run. Top and Bottom is our preference because with those placements all 4 players can protect the heroes they want to protect and ensure victory, with the center placement you run a slightly higher than 0% chance of losing both Druids. All in all, keep your players in groups of 2, then no particular hero is a critical loss.   The placement of heroes follows the same principle as the other Mesa’s. The best placement we have found is:

 Bottom:

teamdungeons6sm4bot

Top:

teamdungeons8sm4top The reason Snowzilla is at the back instead of Pumpkin Duke in these pictures is because he is a low level and therefore needs protecting. If all heroes were a similar level Pumpkin Duke would be in the back to protect him.
